Gabrielle Birchak is a writer and copy editor with over 20 years of experience in a variety of industries that include space flight, real estate, technology, entertainment, and parenting. Yes, she will tell you that parenting is an industry. She is also a comedian, actress, Photoshop queen, event planner, Web developer, singer, video editor, wife, cook and according to her children, a "mom." We tried to ask for an adjective, but her children could only confirm that she is, in fact, their mother.

Birchak grew up in Denver, CO. At the age of 10, a local publisher printed her poetry. She then migrated into comedy sketch writing – but that didn’t pan out because when she sent her stuff to Lorne Michaels, she forgot to include a SASE.

While living in Denver, CO, Birchak worked as an actress and jazz vocalist. The work was so good that fame went to her head. She was a big fish in a little pond. You get the idea. So, she took her big head filled with delusions of fame and grandeur and moved to Los Angeles, CA. After a heaping dose of reality, Birchak continued to write while working in the recording studios. However, A&M Studios had no need for a comedy writer. Go figure.

Birchak then ventured into college where she studied journalism, English, physics, and chemistry. (Don't laugh - no joke.) Even though she tried to bribe her counselor with pole dancing, he still wouldn’t let her Quadruple Major. That and he said the pole kept chafing him. After college, Birchak worked in media and public relations for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Space Frontier Foundation and several others. As a media relations representative her work appeared in WIRED Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Pasadena Star News, Science Daily, Earth Science World, and many others. There was no pole dancing involved.

When she's not building rockets or saving lives, Birchak enjoys writing just about anything her brain can conjure up, or about anything anyone will pay her to write. This includes comedy, ghostwriting, white papers in geek speak, articles, memoirs, sketches and copywriting. Wait, there's more. If you order within the next five minutes, she will also do copy editing and script doctoring. She is currently working on two screenplays that are so secret that even she is not aware of them. She is also a contributing writer for DC Metro Magazine, where she does all her serious stuff.

While in Los Angeles, CA, you will often find her running her local Homeless Opossum Shelter (The HO Shelter) or crashing happy hour parties at El Torito, vying for free margaritas. While in Washington, D.C., she works as the family maid/laundress, which freaks the kids out because they are just not used to seeing her clean. For more information, please visit her Web site. Oh, wait, you are here already.
